Kelly McKenzie
DIRECTOR, AWARD WINNING STYLIST, REDKEN CERTIFIED HAIR COLOUR SPECIALIST
Purchasing and opening Pure Hair in 2007 with Leanne Kommeren, was an amazing opportunity and one that I have thoroughly enjoyed creating and evolving since that day.
Having been a part of the hairdressing industry for almost 30 years, there have been many amazing experiences! These include being selected as a stylist for NZ fashion week, show work and competing in live and photographic competitions. Some of my accolades for this include winning the crown of Hawke’s Bay Editorial Stylist of the Year – 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Since the beginning I've had many talented stylists work with me. Some of whom now own salons which is truly humbling. I will continue to develop the staff and myself as we strive to become the best team of stylists possible! Education is paramount at Pure Hair as we are determined to always offer the latest hair trends to our guests and community.
Leanne Kommeren

Purchasing my first business (Head High hair salon) at 19 years of age was life changing!
Little did I know at the time that I would go on to change lives daily through the work I was so passionate about.
In my 40 years in this incredible industry, I have trained and up-skilled several talented award winning stylists, supporting and encouraging them to become the best version of themselves!
I have attended several World Hair Expo’s and Symposiums, learning from some of the best in our industry globally.
In recent years I incorporated into my business, “Healthy Living From The Inside Out”.
Working closely with guests adding Skincare and Nutrition alongside Hair, while also encouraging and supporting them to be the best version of themselves through pure, safe, beneficial, vegan products!
My passion is to Empower People creating an exceptional life for them and their families.
Megan Perfect

Megan is passionate about learning and constantly upskilling. As well as being qualified in make-up artistry, she has an amazing eye for detail and personal style. Megan loves the hairdressing industry! She especially thrives in cutting and colour where she has proven her passion winning 1st placings in 2016 Hawke's Bay Regional Hairdressing Competitions - The Patrick Cameron Award.
Bonnie Stewart

Hairdressing is my passion! I balance my passion for hair with being a mum of two and my growing number of pets. I have been in the hair industry for 14years, during this time I have won multiple awards in both live competitions and editorial work. I am also an Internationally recognised Redken Certified Hair Colour Specialist. I love learning new skills in all aspects of hairdressing and passing on my knowledge to the next generation of stylists. My focus is on my clients looking and feeling their absolute best when they leave our beautiful salon.
MJ Jones
AWARD WINNING STYLIST, 2020 - 2022 REDKEN POWER PRO NETWORK ARTIST, REDKEN CERTIFIED HAIR COLOUR SPECIALIST
My hairdressing career began at age 16 and over 16 years later I’m still super passionate about our industry.
Earning one of 4 spots on the Redken Power Pro Network (a mentorship programme to become a national Redken Artist) was a massive career highlight and also becoming an internationally recognised Redken Certified Hair Colour Specialist.
I love educating, thinking outside the square and shaping the future of our industry.
A dreadlock specialist for over 10 years and creator of Dread Cult in 2015, some recent and past clients include Ma’a Nonu, Rodney So’oialo, Kupu Vanisi and Karl Tenana to name a few.
I have a strong passion for alternative colouring & cutting and blonde work.
Winning the Wella Trend Vision Peoples Choice award in 2012, and being a finalist in the NZ Industry Awards in 2018 for Hawke’s Bay Editorial Stylist

I feel that by listening to every clients wants, needs and desires, I’m driven to be the best I can be. I want every client to leave feeling absolutely fabulous!
As well as my existing clients, I look forward to meeting new and exciting clients, and helping them to achieve the style or colour that enhances not only their physical appearance but also their daily routine and lifestyle.

My hairdressing career started in 2005 and sadly ended in 2012 when I discovered that I had chemical allergies. From then till today I have had immense customer service experience which has landed me in this very exciting, niche role at Pure Hair. It is amazing being back in a industry that I love and be surrounded by creative, like minded woman. I look forward to meeting you at your next visit.
